When did you begin to draw?
I was 3 years old the first time I grabbed a pencil. Haven’t stop since then.
Can you give an advice on how to achive such amazing skills as yours?
Practice. Don’t stop working. Study painting techniques and practice. Eventually, you’ll find your own voice and way. And then, practice more.
How would you describe your painting technique?
I do a digital version of the painting technique known as glazing.
A glaze is a thin transparent or semi-transparent layer of paint spread over the top of other layer that is dry.
When you use multiple layers, the colors combine with each other and you play with the amount of paint to render the details, or increase the drama, brightness or depth.
Who is your favorite artist?
Can’t choose just one.
- Comic artists: Adi Granov, Alan Davis, Travis Charest, Alex Ross, Salvador Larroca…
- Illustrators: Frank Frazetta, Andrew Struzan, Rory Kurtz, Grzegorz Domaradzki…
What did you study on college?
Only for a couple of years, though. I left it to study graphic and web design.
If you hadn't dedicated yourself to illustration and design, what would your occupation have been?
What gives you energy?
Watching night sky.
Chocolate ice cream.
Music —specially film sountracks.
Do you listen to music while you work? What kind?
I always listen to music while I work, yes. And I prefer orchestral music, no lyrics. Films soundtracks most of all.
I have several playlists and, depending on the tone/mood I need for the piece I’m working on, I choose one of them and… Let it gooo!
