These are conceptual images used to present the exciting project Los nuevos de Lope (Lope’s new ones), by the Fundacion Siglo de Oro, which will bring to the stage two true treasures from the literature of the Spanish Golden Age. Thanks to the advances in AI, researchers have been able to reveal these unknown plays by the legendary litterateur Lope de Vega.

The images (in a pictorial style that evokes the Golden Age to create that historical connection with the relevance of the past) portray mysterious characters of the time, their faces veiled by blotches of paint inviting us to imagine who these characters are and what stories they have to tell —plots hidden for centuries in pages orphaned of their author’s signature.
